Suresh Raina, Mohammad Kaif — UP cricket with growing IPL infrastructure — Lucknow has produced some of India's finest cricketers. Lucknow's coaching tradition runs deep. What it has never had is an accessible, affordable way to measure what great coaches already see.
What changes with CricMotion
Any coach or player in Lucknow — at any ground, with any smartphone — can now run a complete phase-by-phase biomechanics analysis of their bowling action. From one phone video.
Cricket in Lucknow — the ecosystem
The Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) oversees cricket across Lucknow and the wider region. Uttar Pradesh is India's most populous state. Lucknow has a growing academy ecosystem driven partly by the IPL franchise presence, but the coaching-to-player ratio remains among the lowest in major cricket states.
UP produces enormous cricket talent across a vast geography — Lucknow to Varanasi, Agra to Meerut. Biomechanics analysis has been entirely absent from this ecosystem. CricMotion requires only a smartphone — which every UP cricketer already has.
The access gap
Biomechanics analysis has historically required specialist facilities and analysts that most academies in Lucknow simply don't have access to. The result: coaching is conducted almost entirely by eye. Experienced coaches see problems — but can't precisely measure them, track whether they're changing, or produce evidence to share with parents and selectors.
What CricMotion measures in Lucknow
The analysis is identical regardless of where you are. Whether you're at BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium or coaching at a neighbourhood ground — the same comprehensive analysis runs across four phases:
- Bowling analysis: Run-up, impulse stride, delivery stride, follow-through. Rear-knee angle, bracing time, front-knee extension, arm-leg timing. ICC legal action check. Lumbar stress, shoulder overuse clusters.
- Root cause identification: The phase causing the most downstream problems — what to fix first.
- Coach Arjun's personal note: Plain cricket language. One thing to fix. Three specific drills for your next net session.
