How long does analysis take? ▾
The slow-motion player opens the moment you stop recording. The ball's flight, the bounce and the pitch map join it within a few minutes. The written report appears in your account on the web at app.cricmotion.com, usually the same day. If a ball has been waiting longer than that, email hello@cricmotion.com with the number on the ball's row on Home, like #832.
How should I set up to film? ▾
You film inside the app, so there is nothing to export or upload. Stand the phone still, get the whole body in frame from the run-up to the follow-through, and pick the angle on the screen before you record. Back-on, from directly behind the bowler, reads the ball: speed, line, length and the bounce. Side-on, from the side at about hip height, reads the bowling action. Good light helps more than anything else.
Why does a ball say "No ball seen"? ▾
We only publish a speed, line or length when the ball can be followed clearly from the hand to the bounce. If it was too far away, too dark, or filmed too slowly, the app says so instead of guessing. Film from directly behind the bowler in good light and the next ball should read.
How accurate is the speed? ▾
It is an estimate, worked out from how far the ball travels between frames of your video. It depends on where the phone stood and on the light, so treat it as a guide rather than a radar reading. We only show a speed when the ball can be followed clearly.
Where is the full written report? ▾
In your account on the web at app.cricmotion.com. The app shows what you captured and where it is up to; the detailed action report is long-form reading, so it lives on the web where there is room for it.
Can coaches see my reports? ▾
Only if you share them. If your coach is on CricMotion and has added you to their squad, they can see your reports automatically.
How do I report a coach, or stop them seeing my balls? ▾
To stop a coach seeing your balls, open the app, go to Profile, then Coaches, and tap Remove coach. It works straight away. To report a coach's note, tap Report this feedback on the note in your report, or email support@cricmotion.com. We reply within one business day, and we close accounts that break our rules.
Can I use CricMotion for a player under 18? ▾
Yes, with a parent or guardian's agreement. Our Terms and Privacy Policy, which you agree to when you sign in, require it for any player under 18. A coach recording someone else's player needs that family's agreement first.
What cricket disciplines are supported? ▾
Bowling is live: speed, line and length from a back-on clip, and the action report from a side-on clip. Batting, wicket-keeping and fielding are in development.
How do I delete my account? ▾
In the app, open Profile and tap Delete my account. It signs you out at once and closes your account for good. To ask us to remove your data, or just one ball, email support@cricmotion.com.
