The questions we get most often. If your question isn't here, use the form above.
How do I upload a video? ▾
Log in to your CricMotion account, go to New Analysis, and drag or tap to upload your video file. Side-on angle at hip height is the primary angle for both bowling and batting — this captures 28 bowling metrics and 12 batting metrics. For batting, you can also add a front-on clip to unlock 9 more metrics. For bowling, a back-on clip unlocks 3 more. Minimum 6 deliveries for bowling, 10 balls for batting. Files up to 500MB are supported. If you're having trouble, try a different browser or compress the video first. You can also ask the CricMotion Help chatbot in the app for instant guidance.
How long does analysis take? ▾
Pro plan: results guaranteed within 4 minutes of upload. Scout and individual plans: results within 8 hours, emailed when ready. If your Pro plan analysis has taken more than 10 minutes, contact us at hello@cricmotion.com with your analysis ID.
My phase score looks very low — is something wrong with my analysis? ▾
Low phase scores are common, especially on a first analysis. A score of 29–46 in the root cause phase is not unusual — it reflects genuine technical flags, not an error. Read Coach Arjun's note first — he will explain what drove the score and what to work on. You can also ask Coach Arjun follow-up questions directly in the app. If a score seems completely wrong relative to what you see on video, send us the analysis ID and we'll review it manually.
Why do I have red flags in phases that look fine to my coach? ▾
Computer vision measures at frame level — significantly more precisely than the human eye at normal bowling or batting speed. It's common for coaches and players to see an action that "looks fine" while the AI surfaces specific angular measurements that are outside reference range. This is not a criticism of your coach — it's what happens at 0.4 seconds. Share the specific parameter value and reference range with your coach. The conversation that follows is usually very productive.
The phase boundaries in my report look wrong — what do I do? ▾
CricMotion auto-detects the key event frames (e.g. back-foot landing, front-foot landing, arm load, release for bowling — or trigger, backlift apex, bat-ball impact, follow-through for batting). If the auto-detection placed a boundary on the wrong frame, use the "Adjust phase boundaries" tool at the bottom of your report. Nudge the frame number using the buttons, click "Apply & recompute", and all metrics will be recalculated against the corrected timestamps. This usually takes 2–4 seconds. If the recalibration doesn't resolve the issue, email hello@cricmotion.com with your analysis ID and describe which phase looks off.
How do I cancel my subscription? ▾
Email hello@cricmotion.com with your account email and "cancel subscription" in the subject line. We'll process it within 1 business day and confirm by email. No minimum term — you can cancel any time and you won't be charged for the following period.
What disciplines are currently supported? ▾
Bowling and batting analysis are fully live. Wicket-keeping and fielding analysis are in development. All individual and academy plans include both bowling and batting.
I drilled for two sessions but my re-upload score didn't improve — what do I do? ▾
This happens — especially when a pattern is deeply ingrained or when the drill wasn't being executed precisely. You can ask Coach Arjun about it directly in the app — describe which drill you ran and he can suggest adjustments based on your specific analysis. Or email us at hello@cricmotion.com with your analysis ID from both sessions. This is one of the most common support questions we get and we're happy to go through it in detail.
Can I use CricMotion for a player under 18? ▾
Yes. CricMotion is widely used for U-14, U-16, and U-19 players. If you are a parent uploading video of a minor, you are providing consent by uploading. Coaches uploading video of players under 18 should have parental consent from each player's family before uploading. See our Privacy Policy for details.
