CricMotion is run by Vidirna Private Limited, a company registered in India. In this policy, “we” means Vidirna Private Limited.
When you create an account: your name, your email address, your role (player, coach or academy) and your password (stored scrambled, never in plain text). If you sign in with Apple or Google instead, we receive the name and email address they share with us; with Apple's Hide My Email, that is a private relay address.
In your profile: your name and playing role, and anything else you choose to add: date of birth or age, height, weight, bowling arm and batting hand, gender, city, state and country, and a parent or guardian's phone number. Age, height and weight make the analysis more accurate. Gender only adds a note to a report when its reference ranges come mostly from male players. A parent or guardian's phone number is used only to contact them about their child's account. The rest is kept on your profile and is not used for anything else. You can edit or clear any of them at any time.
When you record or upload a delivery: the video, the audio recorded alongside it, a still photo of the pitch that the camera takes when it opens (so we can measure the pitch), and technical details about the recording such as camera settings and the timing of each frame.
As you use CricMotion: injuries the player or their coach record (the body area, how serious, the dates and a short note); notes a coach writes on your balls, and any report you make about a note; your bowling style; a coach's bio and experience if you are a coach; your own phone number if you add one; and the phone's height above the ground, measured before recording.
We also collect basic usage information (pages visited, analyses run) and device or browser details, for support and to keep the service working.
We record sound while you are filming and store it with your analysis, because it makes your results measurably more accurate. We do not listen for speech, we do not transcribe it, and we never use it for anything else. The audio is kept with your analysis and removed with it when your data is removed.
To produce the biomechanics analysis of your deliveries, to generate your personalised coaching notes, to send you your results and product updates (you can unsubscribe at any time), and to give you better insights: we use your videos, and the measurements we take from them, to keep improving the analysis for you and every player. For that we use your videos, and measurement data that has had your name and every link back to you removed. Our team may also review some of your videos to check results and keep the app safe. You agree to this when you sign in or sign up.
On secure cloud servers, and on computers that run our analysis for us, which may be in India or in other countries. Videos and audio are held in private storage that is not publicly accessible.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with third parties except where the law requires it, with those who run parts of CricMotion for us (the cloud providers who host it and send our emails, and the people and computers that process your videos for us), and with third-party AI services that help analyse your videos. These AI services may be in other countries, such as the United States. They receive still images from your videos, the measurements we take from them, and the player's name, age, height, gender, bowling arm, batting hand, bowling style, session dates and any injury the player has told us about. The still images are whole pictures, so anyone else in view is in them too; where you can, film with only the player in view. If you use the help chat on our website, what you type is sent to it too.
Inside CricMotion: a coach or academy you are connected with, or who adds you to their squad, can see your deliveries and reports. They agree to our Terms, which let them use a player's data only to coach that player and require them to keep it private. You can remove a coach at any time in the app: Profile, then Coaches. When the app runs into an error, a crash-reporting service receives technical details about that error, not your videos. If you send us a bug report, it goes to our issue tracker without your email address; we keep your address on our own servers so we can reply.
Anyone who processes your data for us, whether a company, such as the cloud providers who host CricMotion or the AI services that help analyse your videos, or a person who runs a computer that processes your videos, does so only under an agreement that requires them to protect your data to the same standard as this policy, to use it only to provide that service to us, and not for their own purposes.
The app sends nothing to an analytics or advertising company. We measure how the app is used with our own records on our own servers. This website uses Google Analytics to understand which pages bring people to us; the app does not. If you choose to sign in with Google, Google's sign-in software may collect device and usage information for Google's own purposes, under Google's privacy policy.
You can delete your account yourself, from inside the app: Profile → Delete my account. You will be asked to type a confirmation phrase, and your password if you signed up with email. If you signed in with Apple, we also ask Apple to disconnect CricMotion from your Apple ID where we can; you can do it yourself in iPhone Settings → your name → Sign-In & Security → Sign in with Apple. If you signed in with Google, you can remove CricMotion from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com, under Security, then Your connections to third-party apps and services. We use Apple and Google sign-in only to confirm who you are: we receive your name and email address and read nothing else from those accounts. If you would rather we did it for you, email support@cricmotion.com from the address on the account.
What happens immediately: you are signed out on every device and can no longer sign in.
Within 30 days: your account and its data are deleted, and we email you when it’s done. Copies in our backups are removed within a further 30 days. To remove a single delivery without closing your account, email support@cricmotion.com from the address on the account.
What we keep, and why:
Your email address cannot be reused. So that a deleted account can never be reopened, we keep a one-way scrambled version of your email address. It cannot be turned back into your address, and it is used for one purpose only: to refuse any future attempt to sign in or sign up with it. This means deletion is permanent. If you want to use CricMotion again later, you will need a different email address.
While your account is open, we keep your videos, their audio and your analyses so you can revisit them. Usage records (pages opened and analyses run) are kept with your account. Crash reports are kept by the crash-reporting service for up to 90 days. If you ever pay us, we keep the invoice records that tax law requires, for as long as it requires, even after your account is deleted. When you delete your account, your account and its data are deleted within 30 days, as described above. To remove a single delivery, email support@cricmotion.com.
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 you have the right to access your personal data, to correct it, and to have it erased. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@cricmotion.com. You can also close your account yourself using the delete option above. You may also withdraw consent at any time. In the app, Profile → Permissions lets you withdraw it. You are then signed out and cannot use CricMotion until you sign in and agree again. Deleting your account stops all new analysis, and your account and its data are then deleted within 30 days.
Cricket is largely played by young people, so we treat this seriously. Where the player being analysed is under 18, a parent or guardian must consent before any video is uploaded. Coaches and academies are responsible for obtaining that consent for players on their roster. A parent or guardian may ask us to delete a child's data at any time by emailing support@cricmotion.com, and we will act on it on the same terms set out above.
If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will also be told to you by email.
